  1. May 10,  · With Bartos' constant echoing of the exact Kraftwerk DNA in his own work, the demon behind "Off the Record" remains hard to ignore - starting with the fragmentation of former duplicates into the album's cover art; the plastic head (like the music) is forever timeless but just as tiresome in clinging on to the exhausted "Kraftwerkian" dream/5().

When the Bureau B label contacted Karl Bartos and showed interest in releasing any archival material he might have laying around the lab, the former Kraftwerk member (that is, "classic lineup" member, joining for the Autobahn tour and leaving somewhere between Electric Cafe and The Mix) wasn't all, he's a never-look-back futurist, but as the liner notes to Off the Record 7/

For good measure, the lyrics of the songs are reprinted as well. Bottom line: it's now been 10 years since the last studio album of Kraftwerk and "Off the Record" fills the gap quite nicely/5(96).
  7. Well-known as one-quarter of the classic Kraftwerk line-up, Karl Bartos' new album is an audio-visual sensation. Lost for many years, some of his early music has been re-conceived and re-contextualized in a thrilling modern setting. Here's the story: during Kraftwerk's heyday, Karl Bartos wrote - off the record a secret acoustic diary.
